Pay and Progression

Salaries are listed on each Job Advert. Pay, including pay progression, is reviewed in negotiation with the recognised trade unions, with an annual settlement date of 1 April.

 


Hours

The hours for each post will be listed on the Job Advert. Where possible our Recruitment Pack will list a rota schedule.

Location

Most of our posts are officially based at the National Museum of Scotland with some posts requiring travel to other Museum sites as need.

 

As part of our hybrid working arrangements, some of our roles offer the opportunity to work from home a percentage of your working week.


Probation

New employees are on probation for a period of six months from date of appointment.

Any offer of employment will be made subject to the below which are satisfactory to National Museums Scotland.

  • Basic Disclosure Scotland check
  • Completion of a pre-employment health referral. We ask you to complete this so that we can put in place any support you need, including reasonable adjustments, during your onboarding and induction periods as well as your ongoing employment with us
  • Proof of Right to Work in the UK.
